1994 - Eira Guest (Cornerstar Design Company)
Manchester's Eira Guest won the 1994 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award with her business, Cornerstar Design Company.
Eira started Cornerstar Design Company with her designer friend Claire Leyden as they were both having problems finding clothes to fit them. Cornerstone Design Company began making clothes specialising in size 16-24 under the brand name 'Nemesis Select'. Shell LiveWIRE staff member Karen Bellis said of Eira: "The judges were very impressed by her business idea and the fact she has managed to go a very long way in a short time."
Since winning our award, Eira has been the owner of 72-74 Tibb Street, which has housed a bundle of businesses under one holding company including three pubs, restaurants, and various exhibitions. Today, Eira works with the entrepreneurs of the future at Young Enterprise North West.
