2000 - Jenine Parkynn (Fender Sturrock Ltd)
Jenine Parkynn won the 2000 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award with her business, Fender Sturrock Ltd.
Whilst studying for a law degree, Jenine did numerous part-time promotions for the drinks industry. This gave her the idea for her own thriving company, Fender Sturrock, which she set up November 1998. The promotions and marketing company provides blue chip clients with skilled staff for publicity campaigns at clubs, pubs and trade shows across the UK. They also provide marketing ideas for product launches and promotions and have nation-wide sales teams to carry out field marketing activities for major banking institutes.

At the time of winning, Fender Sturrock occupied the first floor of a business centre in Edinburgh and employed 225 full-time staff members across Britain. No job was too big or too small for Jenine's workforce as she had an additional 3,000 part-time staff on her books who could be called on at any time to 'spice up' her clients' sales drives. Jenine's success has netted her a first year turnover of £250k with second year projections at just over £10 million.
Jenine's advice to young entrepreneurs is to "look after the people who work for you and revisit your business plan regularly to maintain focus."
