2010 - Jessica Grosvenor (Freelance Training & Consultancy)
The Shell LiveWIRE team is delighted to announce that our Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 was Jessica Grosvenor (Freelance Training & Consultancy).
(l-r) James Smith (Chairman Shell UK), Jessica Grosvenor (Freelance Training & Consultancy) and Mark Prisk MP (Minister of State for Business & Enterprise)
Jessica, a 25yr old entrepreneur from Wolverhampton, was shortlisted from hundreds of applicants across the UK before spending the day at Shell Centre being grilled by two panels of judges comprising:
- Duncan Bannatyne OBE
- Professor Sara Carter (Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship)
- Robert Matthams (Shiply)
- Josie Emberton (UnLtd/Live UnLtd)
- Simon Dolan (SJD Accountancy)
- Hermione Way (Newspepper/Techfluff.tv)
- Emma Jones (Enterprise Nation)
- Alex Mitchell (Institute of Directors)
- Andrew Dixon (Global Marketing Manager, Shell Fuel Cards).
Her business, Freelance Training & Consultancy, turned over £1.46 million in its first six months and offers bespoke training across Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management using NHS qualified nurses and assessors who have been made redundant due to the reduction in NHS facilities. These skilled professionals have many years of experience and are now able to bring their knowledge to the private sector via Jessica's company on a freelance basis.
The company also works with a local training provider and college to offer 80 16-18yr olds a cadetship programme with work experience and the necessary skills and qualifications for a career in Health and Social Care.
