Those are great tips! All of them! They are really helpful for newbies, like I am. I've only recently made my first ever site with the help of this drag and drop website builder: http://www.templatemonster.com/moto-cms-3-templates.php. I still have few days for making changes (they give you 14 days for that in a trial version), so I'm looking for tips on how to make my site even better now.

If You are going to start a small business you need to start from scratch and set up small goals and flexible business strategy. This will help you to identify the risk and help you the see the bigger picture. Learn from your failures and convert them into success.

A summary of my last four AMAs

Hey,

I am a big fan of AMAs and I am joining one every time I see someone inspirational delivering a talk (Product Hunt & GrowthHackers websites are hosting them).

I am giving you a summary of my last four AMAs (Ask Me Anything). I asked these four entrepreneurs - "FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO EMBARK ON THEIR OWN START-UP JOURNEY, WHAT TIPS COULD YOU OFFER?"

Micah Baldwin - CEO of Graphic.ly - Talk to a lot of people about your idea. Not for feedback, but for reaction. Make lots of friends. Dont ask for money too early. Believe that if a punk high school kid can build a company and sell it to Yahoo! that you can too. Remember that we live in a collaborative community, not a group of cut-throat assholes. Just find your place within that community.

Nathan Chan - CEO of Foundr - Ship often, and speak to people that know their stuff and learn as much as you can.

Guy Kawasaki - My biggest tips for young people: never ask people to do something you wouldnt do; whenever your boss asks you to do something, drop everything else and do it; understand that your job is to make your boss look good. You do these three things, and youll go far in life.

Jonah Lopin - Ex VP Customer Success at HubSpot Short answer: good luck dude! Longer answer: I could think up a lot of tips, but you have to be careful because like many entrepreneurs, I have a small # of companies and experiences I use to draw out my learnings. However, here are a few things Id encourage a would-be founder to think about:
Startups are a hard way to make a buck, so if youre in it for the money, you should make sure youre expected value calculations are right
Make sure youve got deep conviction about what youre doing, because youll need conviction when you start building something from nothing
Life will be easier if you pick a big market that has some shifts happening inside it.

3. Read great business books
4. Listen to your early customers
5. Follow your vision
