2005 - Sarah McVittie and Thomas Roberts (Texperts)
The 2005 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Eastern Region) was won by Sarah McVittie and Thomas Roberts for their business, Texperts.
RE5ULT Ltd, provided a mobile phone information service called 82ASK, which enabled people to text in a question on anything at all and have it answered within minutes. Questions posed range from shopping and dining queries to sporting trivia questions and scientific facts. The service has even been used by a flustered marketing executive to track down the nearest place he could obtain a batch of live flies urgently for an advertising campaign.

Sarah and Thomas, came up with their business idea while working as corporate finance analysts in London. They often had to provide fast accurate answers and information to demanding bosses, and thought they could offer their skills to answer questions from the public. Following detailed research, they identified that there was a gap in the market to provide fast, accurate, tailored information for busy people on the go and the business was launched. The key to their service is a knowledge database which they have developed themselves backed by a network of information experts.
In 2008 they sold Texperts to their largest competitor in a multi-million pound transaction. Sarah has now set up a new business, Dressipi, and you can read about her experience here.
