Terence Chung won August’s Shell LiveWIRE Smarter Future Award for his business, FRUU.
FRUU is a British indie cosmetic company specialising in sustainable fruit-derived skincare products. FRUU produces sustainable products mainly from organic fruit and plant ingredients derived from food waste from processed fruit products. By using fruit waste materials the business will be diverting food waste from landfill sites, helping to mitigate the amount of greenhouse gases released during the decomposition processes.
Commiserations to Diana Florescu (TakeMeOut), James Okwudili (Vibro Ultra), Rebecca Sloan (Piddle Patch) and Sylvia Sun (GreenRide Sharing) who were shortlisted but did not win this time and are encouraged to reapply.
Every year, the Shell LiveWIRE and Shell Springboard programmes recognise and award ground-breaking UK entrepreneurs helping to accelerate the move to a sustainable, low-carbon future. And this year is no exception.
